Our Stall before the opening. It was the last time we saw it visitor-free!
We decided that our theme would be preventing bike theft, and spoke to M & P Direct who were having a stall at the show to encourage them to discount motorcycle security devices. We gave all visitors to our stand useful crime prevention tips, showed various security items and gave 20%-off vouchers. Our visitors seemed delighted, and happily we received some nice comments. Members of Wales 3 popped in to see how we were getting on and to offer their support throughout the weekend.
Bike Crime... (and thuggery)?
Yes... while the theme of our stall was Bike Security, we had to add a flavour of fun, which we entitled "Smash a Sweet." The object was to drop a sweet down a tube and bash it with a bat (the thuggery element) before it fell into a bowl. It was a lot of fun, and we made £90 by the end of the day; not bad for 10p a go! Next year we might possibly extend the size of the tube to accommodate a Blue Knight!! The proceeds were added to our nominated charity pool for Swansea Foster Carers.
